As commissioners we understand that our decisions affect the lives, livelihoods and environment of applicants, submitters, local authorities and whole communities.

Our role is to make robust decisions in a fair, efficient and timely manner. We have the experience, skills, knowledge and confidence to run effective hearings, process large amounts of information and opinion, and make sound decisions that are precise, concise and clearly written. We have acted as sole commissioner and as a part of the chair of hearings panels for a number of local authorities.
